MOVIE MUSINGS: THE GIFT | RETURN TO SENDER

So I caught 2 movies in the theatres this week and I decided that I will give my two cents worth of how I feel about them. Okay, truth to be told I just think that both were not really worth watching in the theatres so just thought that I would share (hahahaha)
The genre of both movies are along the lines of Thriller, Suspense... Psychological thriller, you get my drift. I have seen my fair share of such movies and so far most of them were great!
I will give a really brief review as I don't want to give away too much and spoil the movie :)

The Gift

When married couple Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) unexpectedly encounter Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an acquaintance from Simon's past, little do they know that their perfect lives will be thrown into a terrifying tailspin.
WELL... This movies does get you jumping at certain scenes so I would say effort for that. Interesting plot twist at the end but I felt like it could be waaaaaay better! I walked out of the cinema thinking that this movie was pretty boring and kinda sucks but it wasn't until the next day when I saw the second movie...

which brings us to, Return To Sender
A nurse living in small town goes on a blind date with a man who is not the person he says he is.
I honestly had really high hopes for this movie seeing how well Rosamund Pike did in Gone Girl. (I thought Gone Girl was such a good movie) Hence I walked into the theatres expecting this movie to meet my expectations. BUT omg, just when I thought The Gift was boring this was worst. Tons of dialogues, long and draggy scenes with one of the crappiest endings ever! Got us wondering how did the movie ever made it into the theatres?!? I would highly suggest NOT watching this in cinemas.
It was truly a disappointment :(

This was the first time I have watched 2 bad movies within a week.. not quite ready to face another disappointment soon. However, Inside Out will be out today so I'm trying my best to be hopeful for it! It had better not fail me as I've been looking forward to watch it since forever!

AND SO...

For the past weeks I've been fighting a battle, a battle within myself. They say your worst enemy, fears and demons are in fact living in your own head, and they are right - Your thoughts are your worst enemies. How do you fight when its your mind vs your heart, when your mind speaks one thing yet your heart speaks another. How does someone go through each passing day with a smile on your face when your insides are all twisted and crumpled up? How do you get over the fear of second.. or even third chances, that giving chances mean bringing down walls you have put up to protect yourself from hurting even further.
Like I said it has been a tough battle, between the mind and the heart.
I thought I was strong, I have been strong all along (at least I feel so) I overcame hurdles life has thrown at me and I'm sure there will be more to come.. yet I feel weak.. I don't have the will to overcome this. How can I do so when even in my dreams I can't escape the pains of reality? Waking up to a pool of sweat just because your deepest fears have chosen to haunt you even in your sleep.

Then again I only have myself to blame, for my own set of expectations, my hopes, faith and ideas that everything would turn out the way I imagined it to be.. only for it to be the total opposite.. and even after it's over I had hope, I hoped... at least until today..

Today, I have lost all hope, trust, faith and everything good I saved for this. Not sure what I can do to make it better, to make myself better, for I am as damaged far beyond anything else. What else can I still believe when everything I have believed in was nothing.
I don't know what to do anymore. I surrender.

MI-MI-MI

January hasn't exactly been very good to me... considering it the first month of 2015, it has been a bitch so far. LOL. Nevertheless I have my closest group of sisters with me to shake off all negativity (temporarily) each week and I cannot be more thankful~ Looking at these pictures, I think it's time I find a camera with a better flash function that doesn't turn me/us into a noseless Voldemort in every shot ZZZ. Also... I got to admit that procrastination have also played a huge part in the lack of blog posts, seriously got to do something about that. I have been meaning for a video to be up this month but I keep forgetting to get a new memory card, sigh. FINGERS CROSSED that I get it by this week and hopefully have a new video before the month ends! I have quite a bit planned up for this so hopefully I get my drive back again and look forward to a better February! XXX
