PROACTIV+

Acne and pimples, are one of the worst things that can happen to anyone while growing up. I myself have gone through several phases where my acne have broken out so badly that I have entirely lost the courage to step out of the house. For those of you who are going through acne, do read on!
I just might have the solution for you!

Years back while I was finding ways to treat my acne, I came across Proactiv®. Upon researching, I have learnt that Proactiv® is one of the more renowned brands associated with treating acne and has proven to help many around the world who were battling acne. For those who have heard or used Proactiv® you probably would have come across their 3-Step Anti Acne Treatment which is one of their main and best-selling products from the brand.

Recently launched in Singapore, the new and improved Proactiv+ has finally arrived! The Proactiv+ range is said to penetrate 2x better directly into the pores making it the fastest, gentlest, most effective Proactiv® The Proactiv+ range has also been enhanced to not only treat acne but also targets other skin issues such as large pores, dry skin, uneven texture and tone, visible dark marks and loss of radiance.

For those who do not know the difference between the improved Proactiv+ and Proactiv, this table helps differentiate between both of the products.

As you can see, the additional advantages that the improved Proactiv+ provides a wider range of solutions for the skin.

"You do not have acne, why are you introducing us this product?"

This is probably a question that might have popped into your head while reading this post so.. Yes I do not have acne but for this posting I have decided to test the Proactiv+ on a family member who has been suffering from acne for the past few years and despite experimenting with various products as well as going for facials etc, the acne won't seem to go away. Hence I have decided to let him have a go with the Proactiv+ range and see how the products have worked for him!

I was given a 30 day kit which comprises of 3 different products all to be used step by step, twice a day.

Step 1: Cleanse | Proactiv+ Skin Smoothing Exfoliator

Smooth away excess oil, dirt and other impurities

This is the first step to eliminate acne, the Proactiv+ Skin Smoothing Exfoliator helps to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin to remove excess oil, dirt as well as impurities on the skin. This product also contains benzoyl peroxide to aid with killing acne-causing bacteria! There are tiny beads in this facial wash and they are super fine yet effective in cleansing your skin. You can feel that your skin is instantly smoother after one wash!

Step 2: Treat | Proactiv+ Pore Targeting Treatment

Kills acne bacteria deep in the pore

Next step involves disrupting the acne cycle with the Proactiv+ Pore Targeting Treatment which further targets and kills acne-causing bacteria! This product is being delivered deeper into the pore to target the spots where acne starts. This allows the product to fight the acne at a deeper level and at the same time minimize dryness and irritation on the surface of the skin.

Step 3: Repair | Proactiv+ Complexion Perfecting Hydrator

Soothe irritation, brighten tone and visibly reduce post-acne marks without clogging pores

Third comes, repairing the skin! With the Proactiv+ Complexion Perfecting Hydrator this product helps soothe, moisturize and restore the skin's radiance. It is never good to have dry skin as it can further irritate your acne resulting in more breakouts so it is always good to keep your skin hydrated. I absolutely love the texture of this product as it feels very thick and full of moisture yet when applied is readily absorbed and does not leave any sticky/oily residue! Absolutely love this!

Inside 30-day kit, you will find a FREE Proactiv+ Skin Purifying Mask worth $20.

Aside from the 30 day kit, I was also given the Emergency Blemish Relief which I could use for my skin! Being a girl, I tend to get 1-2 zits especially when I'm near the time of the month and this is when these 2 products came in handy for me.

Being a fan of clay masks, I was beyond ecstatic to be able to try this out! The Proactiv+ Skin Purifying mask contains maximum-strength (6%) sulfur acne medicine to clear pores, heal blemishes and help prevent breakouts. On days when I feel like my skin isn't looking it's best or feeling congested from wearing too much make-up within the week, I will treat my skin to a 10-minute session with this product to cleanse my pores resulting in smoother and brighter skin!

As for the angry and red zits which occasionally pops out on my face, this is where the Proactiv+ Emergency Blemish Relief comes in. This product applies on clear and kills acne-causing bacteria on contact, at the same time it hydrates, soothes and calm the skin! When I felt a small bump/impending pimple, I immediately started treating it with this product and the time it took for my pimple to recover was way faster than usual! It barely developed into a huge pimple like it usually does and that was such a relief for me! 

Lastly, if you are a victim of body acne... this will be the ideal product for you! It's like using Proactiv+ system on your body!

This product contains salicylic acid which is one of the key ingredients to combat acne as well as to clear and prevent further breakouts on your body and at the same time is gentle enough to soothe your skin :) It comes in a huge tube so a little goes a long way! Anyone can use this, even guys! So if your boyfriend/brother/relatives is suffering from this issue do recommend this to them!!!

So as mentioned above, I got my cousin to try out the Proactiv+ range for a few weeks now as he has been breaking out and his acne won't seem to go away even after trying out many different products. Hence I found that he was a suitable candidate to try out these products so I got him to try them and took pictures of it for you all to see how the products have been working for him :)

This is before starting on the Proactiv+ range. As you can see there are breakouts which are concentrated on the cheeks, forehead as well as along the sides of his face!

After completing the 30 Day treatment range...

After using the Proactiv+ Acne Treatment range, he has mentioned that the texture of his skin has improved with clarity and became less dry especially with the Complexion Perfecting Hydrator as it prevents his skin from getting too dry which would result in more clogged pores. Of course there are still scars from the previous outbreaks but as you can see, the post-acne dark marks have been diminished and the skin is relieved from the irritation
Definitely an improvement from before! With prolonged usage I'm hoping that his acne can be reduced and hopefully gone for good :)

PASJEL BABY SKIN SG

So recently I have been digging this new skincare brand which I was introduced to and it is none other than PasJel! PasJel was first established in Thailand and it's popularity has exploded out of its shores and around to it's neighbouring countries in Asia! I have always been a fan of Thailand skincare products as they are formulated well to suit Asian skin and have always been effective!

One of the few things that attracted me to their products were that most of them contained natural ingredients which are great for the skin! Plus points for natural ingredients :) 

Before drafting out this post, I had about a month to try out the products and after a month has passed I can say that I am truly pleased with them! I have picked out 4 products to choose from and here's what I chose!

PasJel Fluffy Favour

As I was running out of my old moisturiser, I thought it was timely that I get to try a new one out! For me I tend to lean towards moisturisers that wouldn't leave my skin sticky or oily, so initially I was a little skeptical to try out a new brand when I haven't tested yet. 

However I still decided to go along with my choice and to my surprise I ended up loving this product to bits!The PasJel Fluffy Favour contains Bee Venom and Royal Jelly extract which aids in firming and bringing back elasticity to the skin. At the same time it intensively moisturises with anti-ageing benefits! Packed with tons of goodness for the skin :)

The scent of this moisturiser is really nice and pleasant, the texture is extremely smooth and after applying the product is absorbed well leaving no residue on the skin. It also has that soft and velvety touch after! 

PasJel Oh my Egg Blue (Whitening Formula Soap)

This soap works like a bar soap and lathers when in contact with water, one of the main properties of this soap is that it helps brighten your skin which in turn gives you a clearer complexion!

This soap can be used on the face as well as the body so it's great if you would like to brighten your skin on any part of your body! I'm a fan of skin whitening/brightening products so it was a joy being able to try this out and achieve radiant glowing skin at the end of it all! I have so many friends telling me how much fairer I have become compared to before :) Three cheers to fairer skin!!!

PasJel Premiere Silver Pink Facial Mask

As a fan of masks I couldn't pass off the chance to try out a new mask and I chose this one from PasJel! This mask packs a punch with ingredients that helps reduce inflammation as well as to tone and tighten the skin help you to achieve younger looking skin! 

Basically one word to summarise this mask would be an all-in-1 mask for your face :) 

PasJel Sun Fighting Gel

This has probably got to be my favourite product out of the rest! Gone were the days when sunblock used to be sticky, oily and leaves your face feeling and looking weird after application. I love how this sunblock is colourless and glides on so well on you skin!!! 

Upon application it literally melts onto your skin and is absorbed right away. Not only that it leaves a velvety surface which makes applying make up after super easy, it works almost as well as a primer does that I don't even use my usual primer anymore when I use this!

Hey guys! Today I'm back with another skincare review, and this time with this brand that's new to the site and perhaps to some of you, I will be going in depth on some of these products and hopefully you will find this post useful and informative if you're looking for some new skincare products to try out :) 

Dr. Young, the award-winning skincare brand from Korea is officially in Singapore!

The brand combines the skin nourishing goodness of natural ingredients with cutting edge skincare technology to bring a skincare system that makes taking care of your skin a simple part of your daily ritual.

Dr. Young has 5 product lines: Anti-Dryness Line, AC Control Line, Protect-Prevent Line, Anti-Pore Line and Special Care Line that are targeted at various skin concerns. 

Just to share with you guys, my main skin concerns are:

 I have slightly enlarged pores on my cheek area next to my nose area; hence I can get very insecure when they get too visible. With that being said, I received most of the products from the Anti-Pore Line to help target the problems that I was facing with my skin.

Soybean Ferment Extract, a natural moistening substance also provides intense moisture, while Portulaca Oleracea Extract and Centella Asiatica Extract soothe skin irritation.

In addition, this alcohol-free, scent-free and paraben-free product has a multi-emulsion structure to allow fresh and moist feel with no stickiness.

Right: Another bestseller from Dr. Young- the Pore Eraser Balm

 Pore Eraser Balm is a primer that has won numerous blind tests in Korean beauty programmes, making it a hit in countries like Hong Kong, Thailand, USA, Malaysia and Taiwan. This soft-textured pore-managing balm is created particularly to cover pores in prominent areas such as nose, cheek and forehead. Its multi-cross structure silicone will help to fill up pores and rough surfaces of the skin making your skin absolutely flawless.

I have definitely given these products a try for about a week or so and I'm happy to say that I very much liked each and every one of them! One thing I love about Korean skincare is that is it made very suited for Asian skin and for the products from Dr.Young; they have surprised me and worked very well with my skin :) Let me show you briefly how I incorporate these products into my daily skincare regime! 

 After cleansing and toning my skin, I would pump 1-2x of the Pore tightening serum onto my fingers and pat it gently onto my skin, keeping the concentration of the product on my cheeks (where my pores at most obvious). The first thing that I noticed about the product is that it is very light in texture and readily absorbed quickly without leaving any oily/sticky residue behind, allowing me to apply my moisturizer after without much hassle! 

As some of you might have already known, I'm a huge fan of clay masks and to be given a new brand to try makes me super happy!

Clay masks works by drawing the impurities and excess sebum out of your pores to prevent clogging/blackheads and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth after, and with this Clay Mask from Dr.Young, I loved how it worked on my skin!

 This Clay Mask comes slightly scented as compared to some of the others I've tried and for those who likes scented products you might like this! It's not overpowering but somewhat soothing so you can get to relax and enjoy a relaxing pampering session for your skin while masking :) 

 The Pore Eraser Balm comes in after I'm done with my skin care, it's time to prep my skin for make-up! With the pore-eraser balm, it works as a primer as well as conceals all visible signs of your pores giving your skin a smooth and flawless look!

See below, I did a before-after comparison for the Pore Eraser Balm and in the after pic, the lines on my hand are less visible as compared to before and I love how it has a smooth and velvety finish ~

 Amazing!

Now I can safely cover the enlarged pores on my skin and have the Pore Eraser Balm tighten them at the same time making it less visible than before :) 

Did another test on my face and as you can see on the left the skin is way smoother as compared to the right! I love how after application it literally blends in so well with my skin that I don't feel any product left over :) Definitely going into my bucket of favorite products now! 

Last but not least - the Protect and Prevent Triple Action BB Cream!

I like how this BB cream comes with whitening and anti-wrinkle properties, why not use a product that not only protects your skin but keeps it young and radiant at the same time? 

 They say a little goes a long way and true enough with this BB cream, a little is good to cover your entire face. For this product, I particularly like how it isn't thick nor sticky and applies evenly and leaves no stickiness after! You can work out a light-heavy coverage depending on your liking and how much you build-up the product but won't look too cakey on your skin after.

A very versatile and useful product indeed :)
